Recently a discussion has stirred up on a forum. It is about the death of dolling and many dollers are scrambling together to reinvent and revitalize dolling, to bring hoards of new dollers in or keep those involved intact. A lot of this approach seems to be about what everyone can do. In my personal opinion though, it's about what drives each individual to doll. So what drives you to keep dolling month after month, year after year?

Who is this Bunnystick you speak of?
A lot of us have been dolling for several years and even some of the newer dolls recognize the name. PxT has gotten down and dirty with bunnystick (https://www.deviantart.com/bunnystick)!
First and foremost, who ARE you?
I'm Bobby, THE Bunnystick of course! I'm not sure what that means but it seems pretty awesome.
What kind of impact do you feel you have on the dolling community?
Well I want to answer that I truly do not know the answer to that question... I'll try.
Maybe I'm just being too shy? Because really, as far as my artwork is concerned, there are dollers worlds better then me that have predated and proceeded me. (Though, there were a few gems that got unreal praise

I just love doing it. I love that I can sit down and make something amazing without getting frustrated. Yeah, I can do baseless dolls. But I'll be honest - I am a lazy artist. I get so caught up and frustrated in trying to figure out a pose and to get it right, that I eventually lose my drive to draw it in the first place. But sometimes I whip out one of my favorite base sets and just SKETCH. Sometimes they turn into dolls, sometimes they just sit there.
For me, what keeps me "active" other than dolling itself is MDE. I literally come back from whatever self-imposed or accidental hiatus I have every year to do it. It's sort of like the NaNo of dolling for me. No matter what, I find time to write in November, even if I haven't written in six weeks.
I think you hit it on the head though - it's not about "keeping the community alive". It's like anything. If people are determined to do it, they'll do it, no matter where they have to. All the forums closed? People will gather on dA. dA sucks now? We'll move to Tmblr. Tmblr is filled with stupid stuff? We'll find something else, then, too. If people are determined to do it, they'll do it.
You can't keep a group alive if the members are dead. When people die off ALL THE TIME and then come back ALL THE TIME and talk about how dolling is dying... well, no duh.
Here's my opinion, short and sweet: If you don't want dolling to die - stay active.
You can't get pregnant if you don't have sex. You can't have a community if you're not involved in it.
